Missouri River:
This feature represents points along the sailing line of the Missouri River. It's origins are uncertain, however, it most likely originated from the 1994 Hydro Survey Charts. This feature was created as a base layer for the Missouri River mapping project. Mile markers are located every tenth of a mile from river mile 0 through river mile 2321. The MO river miles 0-498.8 are involved in a relationship class with the CRP table in this database. It is based on the dis_mrk_id in this FC to the relate field in the CRP table. field instn_id used to store electronic nav chart cell name in which it is.

Kansas River:
This file provides a rough approximation of river miles along the Kansas River. Five of these points were approximated from the Manhattan Levee O&M Manual produced by the Corps of Engineers, and the rest of the river was calibrated according to these points. The river line file was digitized from 2002 Color infrared photography of the river. This file spans river miles 0-188.4. This layer was developed for use in Hydraulic studies and is intended only to approximate river miles along the river. USE WITH CAUTION.

Chariton River
The river miles were calibrated from known river mile locations along the Chariton River. River centerline was digitized using 2012 Missouri NAIP and 2011 Iowa NAIP.
